Michelle O'Neil, author of the memoir Daughter of the Drunk at the Bar will read at Mac's on Saturday, January 28th at 7 p.m.
Daughter of the Drunk at the Bar tackles the issues of alcoholism in the family, mild sexual abuse, parental neglect, teen sexuality, coming of age, and the amazing power of individual people (teachers, parents of friends, etc.) taking small actions to make a profound difference in a young person's life. Always poignant, often hilarious, Daughter of the Drunk at the Bar will have readers laughing with Janie one moment, crying for her the next, and rooting for her all the way through to the last page.
Michelle will be joined by poet Terre Maher. Terre is also an artist and illustrator who works extensively with seniors in the community. She illustrated Amaze Me: Poems for Girls by Naomi Shihab Nye.
