DAVID ADAMS, GRACE BUTCHER & LARRY SMITH
Poets David Adams, Grace Butcher and Larry Smith will read at Mac's on Wednesday, April 10th at 7 p.m. followed by an open mic.
David Adams is the author of several book and chapbooks including Waiting Places: Poems of Advent Seasons 1969-2016, Looking the Other Way (Blue Shale Books 2013), Room for Darkness, Room for Light (Blue Shale 2009) and Evidence of Love (Finishing Line 2004).
Grace Butcher is a poet that can be defined not only by her work as writer and teacher but by her avocations: running, motorcycles and horses. A contemporary of d.a. levy, Grace was first published in little magazines and mimeo publications in the l960's. Grace taught English for more than 25 years at the Geauga campus of Kent State University. She is a life-long runner and former U.S. half-mile champion, a motorcyclist and former columnist for Rider magazine. Her books include Before I Go Out on the Road, Child, House, World, Greatest Hits 1965-2000 (Pudding House Press) and Rumors of Ecstasy.
Larry Smith is the founder and publisher of Bottom Dog Press. He is the author of eight books of poetry, a book of memoirs, six books of fiction, two literary biographies (of authors Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Kenneth Patchen), and two books of translations from the Chinese with co-translator Mei Hui Huang. Since his retirement in 2003 as professor emeritus at Firelands College he has done volunteer work for hospice, Court Appointed Special Advocate program, and St. Vincent de Paul Society. In 2007 he and wife Ann and Lou and Jan Young founded Converging Paths Meditation Center in Sandusky, Ohio.
