Saturday, April 29th is Independent Bookstore Day. Mac's will have storytelling, crafts, life music and performances, raffles for cool stuff, snacks, selfie station, special merchandise only available at independent bookstores, and more. Schedule below, watch this space for updates! 

11:00 a.m.-Noon: Storyteller Nili Yelin

Award-winning Nili Yelin has combined her professional theatre career with mommyhood to create The Storybook Mom. Using an interactive, educational and highly amusing style, Ms. Yelin likes to call her story-telling, “Sit Down Stand-up.”  She delivers a full performance of the written word, even though the words are few, rhyming, and surrounded by pictures.

1-4 p.m. Origami with Lisa Cheng. Origami artist Lisa Cheng will be at Mac's to show kids (and adults) how to craft a small journal that can be used for writing or drawing.

1-3 p.m. Live music with avant ensemble Tres of the D'urbervilles.

3-5 p.m. Live music with blues guitarist Tim Matson 

2-4 p.m. Face Painting

5-7 p.m. Book Swap: Bring your favorite book and swap it for someone else's favorite book.

All Day: Special Merchandise including a signed, limited edition Michael Chabon short story, a Jennie Lawson original print, Elephant & Piggie onesie, and Child of Books print by Oliver Jeffers.

All Day: Raffle for great stuff, including books and totes.
