Sunday, April 7, 2024 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Jo Piazza, author of The Sicilian Inheritance, will give a presentation and greet readers on Sunday, April 7th at 2 pm at The Italian American Museum of Cleveland, 12111 Mayfield Rd in Cleveland's Little Italy. She will be in conversation with Amy Nelson, founder and CEO of The Riveter, a national membership network of community, content, resources and coworking spaces, built by women for everyone.

Bestselling author, podcast host, and journalist Jo Piazza takes readers on an Italian adventure filled with mystery, humor, and stunning scenery in her latest book, THE SICILIAN INHERITANCE. This riveting dual-timeline novel follows Sara Marsala, a newly single chef and restaurateur, as she travels to her ancestor’s village in Sicily to claim a potential inheritance. When she arrives, she is shocked to learn that her great-grandmother may have been murdered there a century before. It soon becomes clear that she could be in danger too. Flashing back to the early 1900s, readers meet Sara’s namesake, a feisty and headstrong Serafina who is thrust into motherhood in her teens and fights for a better life for all the women of her small village. But not everyone is pleased by her ambitions.

The perfect book for fans of White Lotus season 2 and anyone dreaming of a trip to Sicily, THE SICILIAN INHERITANCE also has a compelling backstory. The novel is based on the mystery of Jo’s own great-greatgrandmother Lorenza Marsala, whose possible murder she is currently investigating in real-time through visits back to Sicily. Working with researchers in Italy and from Ellis Island, Jo has already unraveled previously unknown clues about her family’s history and is producing a true crime podcast about attempting to solve this century-old murder.

Jo Piazza is a bestselling author, award-winning journalist, and critically acclaimed podcast creator. Her books have been published in ten languages and twelve countries.
