Poets Juliet Cook and Sara Minges will read at Mac's on Wednesday, March 13th at 7 p.m,  followed by an open mic.

Juliet Cook is a poet and the editor/publisher of a one-woman indie press, Blood Pudding Press, which specializes in poetry and artsy little misfit offerings. She also edits Blood Pudding Press's spooky sister, an online blog-style literary magazine called Thirteen Myna Birds, which is always accepting submissions.

Sara Minges is a Kansas City poet, advocate of mental health awareness, Spoken Word finalist and “Queen of the Short Poem.” She is the founder of Playful Awareness, a play therapy and parent coaching private practice and Wonder Woman Rising, providing empowerment coaching services for women. Sara’s poems Raw”and Poets and Warning Labels were chosen as staff picks for the Johnson County Public Library Poem-a-Day Contest (2014, 2015). Her poems Naked Toes and Barbie’s Mishap in High Heels have appeared respectively in Salon II (2012) : a chapbook published by the Writer’s Place, and Prompts! A Spontaneous Anthology (2016) , published by Jeanette Powers. Sara has also been a featured poet at the Uptown Arts Bar’s Blue Monday Open Mic Night (2015) and Swordfish Tom’s Speakeasy Monthy Poetry Performance event (August, 2018).
