POETS QUARTEZ HARRIS & CLAUDIA WILSON
Quartez Harris and Claudia Wilson will read at Mac's on Friday, February 21st at 7 p.m.
CLAUDIA M. WILSON is a poet, instructor, & social worker who lives and plays in Amherst, MA. They have featured at various venues in Ohio & Boston such as Writer's Block, Fazenda Queer Reading, & The Oberon. Claudia's present work in progress centers embodiment, familial relationships, blackness and living in the woods, and WWF wrestlers from the mid-'80s. They do creative community play in two collectives: the Mass Collective and the Black Girl Slumber Party Collective. Claudia studied English & Black Literature at The Ohio State University and is a TWH & VONA graduate. Their new chapbook GROWN was recently published through Game Over Books Press and is about Claudia's time in foster care. They study poetry at Umass Amherst and they live with their cat Pablo a.k.a Lil Pooder a.k.a Pooderbutt. Claudia is an avid watcher of Atlanta, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Westworld. They are originally from Cleveland, Ohio.
Quartez first full-length poetry collection, Nothing, But Skin, was published in 2014 by Writing Knights Press. Recently, his work was featured in the Garden of Black Joy poetry anthology published by Wise Ink Creative Publishing. He is Twelve Literary Arts first Barbara Smith Writer-In Resident and was selected as an Baldwin House Fellow. He was a featured reader for the 2019 Cleveland Drafts Festival. His second collection of poetry We Made It To School Alive is set for publication in the Spring. When he is not writing, he is starring as the voice over for all of his son’s action figures.
