John G, the artist and illustrator (with Jake Kelly) of the Lake Erie Monster comics and countless iconic band posters has published a book of poster art he has done over the years for Melt Bar and Grilled. The book, Sandwich Anarchy, collects ten years of Melt posters (200 posters) into one volume, from the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Melt to The Brat Pack Breakfast Club Melt (Pixy Stix included!), along with the stories behind the images.

He will sign books at a beer & wine reception on Friday, December 1st from 5-7 p.m. at the Knitwear Pop-Up Shop, 1782 Coventry Rd, just down the street from Mac's Backs. He will be joined by photographer Dave Treat and Ron Kretsch from Dead Boys 1977 and Anastasia Pantsios who just published the photo book Girls to the Front: 40 Years of Women in Rock.

Dead Boys 1977: The Lost Photographs of Dave Treat collects those incredibly rare images (Only one was ever published—in “Rock Scene” magazine, the alley photo that served as the template for the “Young Loud and Snotty” cover), selections from Treat’s series of intimate portraits of singer Stiv Bators, and early live photos of the band in concert, along with new commentary by band members Cheetah Chrome and Johnny Blitz, and essays by art historian Brittany Mariel Hudak and longtime Dangerous Minds culture blogger Ron Kretsch. The book is an astonishing document from the pre-history of one of the most seismically important movements in the history of rock ‘n’ roll, and an absolute must-have for fans of punk’s first wave.

Anastasia Pantsios started shooting rock concerts in the 1970's and she has written about music for The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Village Voice, Rolling Stone, Spin, Creem and other publications. Girls to the Front collects images of female musicians and singers from an exhibition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 as well as additional photos.
