Poets Siaara Freeman & Rachel Wiley will read on Wednesday, March 8th at 7:00 p.m, at Made Cleveland,1807 Coventry Rd, across the street from Mac's.
Siaara Freeman is from Cleveland Ohio, where she is the current Lake Erie Siren. She has just published a new collection Urbanshee (Button Poetry 2022) and Siaara is a 2022 Catapult fellow with Cleveland Public Theater. She has toured both nationally and internationally and has been the keynote speaker for Delta Mouth Poetry Festival , Kalamazoo Poetry Festival, Midway Music Festival , Norway Poetry Festival & others. Her work appears in West Trestle, The Offing, BOAAT, Tinderbox, Josephine Quarterly and other publications. Siaara is the co-founder of Outsiders Queer Midwest Writers Retreat.
Rachel Wiley is a queer, biracial poet and performer from Cleveland. She is a fellow and faculty member of the Pink Door Writing Retreat held annually for women and nonbinary writers of color in upstate New York. She is the author of the poetry collections Fat Girl Finishing School (2020), Nothing is Okay (2018), and Revenge Body (2022), all published by Button Poetry.
Rachel has represented Columbus, Ohio at multiple National Poetry Slam Competitions and was a finalist twice in 2011. She has toured nationally performing at slam venues, colleges, and festivals. Her work has appeared on Upworthy, The Huffington Post, The Militant Baker, and Everyday Feminism.
